I like how, four years ago, the topic of politics wouldn't get touched on these very same message boards. Now, we have a sense of urgency and now everyone's getting involved in something that was once bashed and mocked. I love it. We have now opened our eyes.
I try not to talk about politics as much as I possibly can, but I don't see any harm in doing so now. This isn't in response to anything that was said, but base on how I feel. KNowing how well misunderstandings rampantly occur around here.
First off, every candidate will say everything you want to hear. That's how it's been since our very first election. Most that's promised doesn't see the light of day, or even given a second thought. As if it really wasn't in their intentions to do so to begin with.
To think if we were so passionate, as we are now, four years ago, we probably wouldn't be in the same predicament. Though, I feel if John Carry was a bit more clear as to what his "plan" was, he would have helped us make a better decision. Yet, he came off being a hypocrite. Saying he has high religious morals and that the human body is a temple, yet he had a botox injection into his face. Also, sounding very repetitive about his "plan." Yet, he made the same arguments as Obama and Clinton. Though it didn't work. Obviously.
Though, I would hate to see us fall down the same hole because we're confused as to who, what, when, where and why Barack Obama. Yes, he's had little experience and probably not enough to be President. Though, if my memory serves me right, one of our previous Presidents had the same argument placed against him and is arguably one of our greatest Presidents. Abraham Lincoln.
No, I don't dare compare Obama to Lincoln. And Lincoln wasn't thrown into the lions den from the get-go. Though, at that time, some felt there was a need for change. So, this inexperienced bi-polar man helped abolish slavery and untied the two well divided colonies.
Yes, a lot has changed since and we adapted to new and greater aspects. And this does seem like too much for anyone to change, but along with change, I feel we need to take on a new slogan. Chance. Do we take the chance voting for the same and watch things worsen? Or do we give Change a chance?
I say we shouldn't make the same mistake again or we're doom for another great depression. |

| People are so ready for "change" that they seem for forget that it isn't always a good thing in the long run. The current system is crap, we all know that-regardless of what the polls say and the media. A hurricane is also change, as well as wildfires, disease, death, and all matters of negative elements. I would like to know how this man is supposed to represent the people, when, currently, I don't know anyone who has anything in common with him at all. There is such a thing as being true to yourself, but anyone with sense knows that sometimes there comes a time when compromise and flexibility is the lesser of two weevils. |
