I'm not against the guy, I'm against zealous propaganda...

I don't like any of the choices and frankly I don't think any of them have shown us enough or that they're to be trusted either way... they all have pros and cons, none that I can see seriously outweigh the other... (sorry Mel)

if I had to choose, I'd say Ms. Clinton but I can barely make my mind up honestly... let alone be a militant political spammer

As much as we want change it will be a dream to get it. Obama sounds like the best choice for president. But he is going to need congress to back him

You don't have to be sorry to me. Everyone gets to believe what they want and vote for who they want. As for me - I am voting for Obama. I am trusting that due to his lack of international experience he will establish an amazing staff of people to support and advise him.

As a senator, Obama's first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent.

I got this information from an Illionois site on his accomplishments:

He played a major role in passing many other bills, including the state's first earned-income tax credit to help the working poor and the first ethics and campaign finance law in 25 years (a law a Post story said made Illinois "one of the best in the nation on campaign finance disclosure"). Obama's commitment to ethics continued in the U.S. Senate, where he co-authored the new lobbying reform law that, among its hard-to-sell provisions, requires lawmakers to disclose the names of lobbyists who "bundle" contributions for them.

He has done a lot...just not on a national level. As far as I'm concerned...he's the man.

Mel,

That's it?

His legacy and accomplishments are that he agreed to sign a couple of bills and bam! you are willing to blindly assign your future to him?

Wow... I have to say the bar is low for choosing the next leader of the most powerfull country in the world.

Your sure u don't just identify better with him cause he is younger, different?

Polls show the young prefer Obama... Reseach shows, since TV coverage of elections started, that most people choose a candidate on their appearance...

I'm sorry it's hardly a qualification for the job simply to appear cooler than the other guy...

I would say that getting Oprah to endorse him is probably his single biggest "accomplishment"... I'm being cynical, but for all intents and purposes that maybe what gets him elected... she has such a far reaching media empire and strong following that I think anyone Oprah endorses will probably get elected. That alone is wrong.

As for picking a good cabinet... do you know who he's gonna pick? Who he even knows? Has he told you? Have you researched these people's background, policies, experience and intentions? Their corporate affiliations and lobbying ties?

Don't think that because he is younger and different that he will be good at whatever/anything... it is pure speculation on anyone's part who think they can confidently pick a candidate by knowing so little about them.

That's all I'm saying, but hey, that's just one man's opinion.

Now I wasn't sorry for you, I was just apologizing for disagreeing strongly, but I do feel sorry for myself, the rest of us and where this country is headed, when that is all we ask of a future president.

Jimmy Crter was elected because he smiled a lot.  He seemed friendly.

JFK was elected because he was good looking to many.

People vote for all kinds of reasons.
