Help ...
I need advice and people from what i gather are straight to the point here.

My friend ive known for years has BDD. Body Dismorphic Disorder. Don't know if anyone knows of it on here. Well she has had it for years. She is a pretty girl, so obvious, but she always puts herself down, and she is so depressed to the point of her wanting to die.

She has been called ugly off girls and alot of people say she is so pretty. But she believes the negative crap off jealous girls. Even the odd guy has called her ugly as they know they wouldn't have a chance with her, as she has turned guys down in the past. I know she is attractive. Kate Hudson attractive.

She wont go out now, as when she does go out she does get stared at mainly by women and gets alot of dirty looks and some girls have said stuff about her and laughed. But i see it as jealousy. She sees it as she is a freak. Her life is an existance, not a life. She won't go out now and i don't know what to do. Can anyone advise please.

BDD is just like OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)  or any other psychological... The person has to want to change to actually make a difference.  The people "glaring at her" is probably all in her head or is a result of her staring at them to see if they're looking at her and it freaks them out and the result it to glare back.

All girls have this so called disorder to a degree.  It pisses my off that they gave it an actual disorder name.  Now it will let more girls believe they have a disorder or something. 

Really all that needs to happen is everyone ignore it when she says "I'm so ugly' and compliment her when she looks nice. 

If you baby these people, they tend to only get worse.

Chad, i've been out with her myself and i too have noticed girls waying her up and staring at her. If she were i ugly she wouldn't be noticed right. Well i tell her that and she feels she is so ugly and a freak. It annoys me as she isn't. I know what you mean about baby her. I don't.

Girls don't feel threatened by ugly girls i think personally and don't even notice them. She is so pretty so they notice her. She has told me what she is like and she has BDD so badly. Yes its like OCD. Thankyou for your answer though Chad.
